For a 30-hour period beginning at 6 p.m. on March 13, the community will have the chance to support the Williamsport Area School District Education Foundation (WASDEF) by participating in the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania’s Raise the Region online fundraising event.
Raise the Region provides an opportunity for people who care about their community to come together and raise as much money as possible for local nonprofits in 30 hours.
With help from leading partner Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships, each donation will have a percentage match applied to it to help leverage an increase in gifts received during the event.
Since 2013, WASDEF has raised more than $47,000 as a result of its participation in the fundraiser.
WASDEF is the district's nonprofit affiliate, working toward a mission of creating powerful classrooms and inspiring futures by supporting educational innovation, the arts, athletics and scholarships.
